National Appraisal Firm Opens Charleston Office

 Integra Realty Resources (IRR), one of North America’s largest independent commercial real estate valuation and consulting firms, today announced the opening of a new office in Charleston, West Virginia. The new location expands the firm’s footprint across Appalachia and the broader Mid-Atlantic while building on IRR’s longstanding presence in West Virginia.

The Charleston office will be led by R. George Parnell, MAI, who will serve as Managing Director. A West Virginia native, Parnell brings more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate valuation and advisory services across multiple markets and property types to his new role.

Parnell’s experience spans a wide range of commercial property types, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, schools, dealerships, and other special-purpose assets. He began his career with IRR in 2016 in the firm’s Pittsburgh office after graduating from West Virginia University. He provided valuation support across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and Kentucky before continuing his career with Newmark and later IRR’s Detroit office, where he further broadened his geographic competency and valuation expertise. In his new role, he returns to his home state to lead IRR’s new Charleston office. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, as well as the ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers.

Joining him in the new office is fellow West Virginia native Lawton Parnell, who joins as a Researcher. Lawton joined IRR in July 2024 and assists appraisers with various aspects of the appraisal process, including conducting research on subject properties and comparable data, analyzing income and expenses, and performing rent comparability surveys. He is currently completing the curriculum to become a licensed appraiser.

IRR already completes hundreds of assignments annually throughout West Virginia and serves a broad mix of clients in the state, including United Bank, Jefferson County Bank and Bowles Rice, along with other major regional and national lenders and a range of institutional, healthcare, legal and nonprofit organizations.

IRR has established an office presence at 232 Capitol St., Suite 32, with plans to grow its West Virginia team over time as demand continues to increase across the state. The new office provides clients with direct, on-the-ground access to the firm’s full suite of valuation and advisory services.
