Clean-Seas, Inc, a global solutions provider, seeks its first US-based Director of Plant Operations to lead the operations at its Plastic Conversion Network facility under development in Belle, West Virginia.

Reports to: VP Technical Operations, Clean-Seas Inc. & President, Clean-Seas WV

Role, responsibilities and performance metrics

Reporting to the VP of Technical Operations, and working in close collaboration with the CEO and President of Clean-Seas West Virginia; the Clean-Seas West Virginia Director of Plant Operations will --

  • Assume profit/loss responsibility for plant operations, including adherence to set operational and capital budgets,

  • Hire, train and manage plant operations and maintenance staff,

  • During facility development and through commissioning, work closely with the Development Team, contracted EPCs, and other vendors to support commissioning,

  • Identify, track, manage and resolve project issues – shop drawings, submittals, change orders, field items.

  • Support the construction project work flow, manage risks and minimize impacts to project schedule and cost,

  • Develop, implement and manage Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of facility operations,

  • Develop, implement and manage facility Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives

  • Build, implement and monitor quality assurance processes to include a Mechanical Integrity Plan

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators to monitor operational efficiency, 

  • Monitor and regularly report KPI metrics and budgets,

  • Implement continuous operational improvement of C-S WV, and share outcomes to inform continuous operational improvement of PCN facilities globally,

  • Support development of a technical resource library and knowledge exchange with other PCN facilities,

  • Assure compliance with all federal, state and other governmental regulations,

  • Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders and partners.

Requirements:

You are a strategic thinker, a team-player, an effective communicator, and an expert in complex process facility operations in a rapidly evolving business and technology environment. You will work within our highly collaborative culture to ensure our company’s success, measured by our Triple Bottom Line, and you have:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States,

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field,

  • 8+ years working in a technological role, operational experience preferred,

  • 5+ years of managerial experience,

  • Operational experience with process chemical or petrochemical manufacturing; experience with  pyrolysis; electrolysis and other relevant technologies a plus,

  • Exceptional team management skills,

  • Excellent verbal and written communication,

  • Ability to delegate efficiently,

  • Industry knowledge with an eye towards the future,

  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and technology, including word processing, spreadsheets and online communications,

  • Proficiency with Distributed Control Systems,

  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems,

  • Hold an OSHA 30 qualification or the ability to complete qualification within 60 days, 

  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand and walk for extended periods, reach overhead and at shoulder level, and occasionally bend and stoop. Candidates must be able to perform all physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position, based in Belle, WV, and working with a geographically dispersed team. Must be willing and able to travel regularly, occasionally with short notice.
