Please join the Charleston Area Alliance for Business After Hours at J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works on Thursday, September 23 from 5-7 p.m. and enjoy one of the Kanawha Valley's most unique and charming locations. 

BAH events are fantastic opportunities to network and meet the region's leaders in a relaxed setting, with refreshments provided by 1010 Bridge Restaurant & Catering. 

A 7th generation salt-making family harvests an all-natural salt by hand, from an ancient ocean trapped below the Appalachian Mountains of the Kanawha Valley in West Virginia. Nancy Bruns and Lewis Payne have returned to their family's 200-year-old farm to harvest a rare salt; their salt making is a unique and innovative process, completed by hand without the use of big machinery and chemicals. They work to enhance the natural properties of the salt, using the power of the earth and hand-made tools to produce an extraordinarily pure product sure to transform any dish. 

Nancy and Lewis are passionate about our local community of Kanawha County, West Virginia and will continue to work to support the initiative to encourage West Virginians to eat healthier. Awareness of the land and where our food is sourced is deeply connected to a healthy community. J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works donates profits from their farm-to-table event series "Celebrating the Season" to organizations that help this cause.
