DESCRIPTION:Education Elevators\n\nWednesday\, Aug. 12\n\nNoon - 1 p.m.\n\nJackson Kelly PLLC\n\n500 Lee Street East\,16th Floor\n\n\n\nWant to engage in your favorite activities during lunch?\n\n \n\nDo you want to be a role model for a child in your community?\n\n\n\nThen the Education Elevators program is for you.\n\n\n\nGeneration Charleston is pleased to be teaming up with the Education Elevators program as one of our new community outreach initiatives.   \n\n\n\nEducation Elevators\, a program of Charleston Area Alliance member The Education Alliance\, is a mentoring program that matches volunteers (Elevators) from the business community with individual students for mentoring\, academic support and friendship.  \n\n\n\nElevators meet with their assigned student one-on-one for approximately 30-45 minutes each week during regular school hours on school grounds.   \n\n\n\nThe mission of the program is to "elevate" the abilities and aspirations of students.  \n\n\n\nCurrently\, members of GC can elect to mentor a student at Piedmont\, Grandview or Chamberlain Elementary.\n\n\n\nThrough involvement in the Education Elevators program\, you can make a difference by supporting\, mentoring and inspiring children in our community.   \n\n\n\nWe encourage GC members to attend the training and orientation to learn more about the program.  (There is no commitment to become an Elevator if you attend the training).  \n\n\n\nYou must be a member of GC to attend.
